A 72 year old Nepalese man named Chandra Bahadur Dangi has been declared as the world’s shortest man in history. The man who is hardly any taller than a newborn baby has an official Guinness World Records height of 54.6 centimeters (21.5 inches). The man is reported to an isolated mountain village of Nepal named Rhimkholi and has never even heard of the Mount Everest which is in Nepal itself. He claims to weight only 14.5 kilograms or 32 pounds. He also swears never to have visited any doctor in his entire life and so, it is not yet ascertained if his short height is due to a medical condition or not. After being discovered by a person who gave the news to the local media, the Guinness editor-in-chief Craig Glenday himself traveled to the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu to meet Chandra. He is declared not only be the shortest man in the world currently but also the shortest man ever in history as he beat the previous record holder Gul Mohammed from India who died in 1997 and was 57 centimeters in height. He is also declared to be the oldest man ever to be awarded shortest-man record in Guinness World Record’s 57-year history.
